Kirkland Mayor Amy Walen and City Manager Kurt Triplett will present a “State of the City” address for residents from 7-9 p.m. May 22 at Kirkland City Hall.
In the address, presented by the Kirkland Alliance of Neighborhoods, they will share the latest updates on the Kirkland City Council’s work program and other major initiatives, including:
- Totem Lake Business District revitalization;
- Kirkland Urban;
- fire station renovations;
- a potential fire station and operations ballot measure;
- implementation of the Kirkland Police Department Strategic Plan;
- a partnership to build a shelter for women and families in Kirkland;
- the Welcoming City proclamation and ordinance; and
- the 2017-18 budget.
Walen delivered a State of the City address with similar topics covered earlier this year at a Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
