All Lake Washington School District schools in Kirkland are closed today, Feb. 6.

The announcement came as snow began to accumulate along the Eastside late Sunday evening. The Bellevue, Northshore, Issaquah school districts, among others, all announced closures earlier in the day.

Eastside Prep, Kirkland Seventh Day Adventist/Puget Sound Adventist and Providence Classical Christian were also closed due to the weather.

The Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland also announced that it would be closed on Monday along with its Early Learning Center. The Evening Board of Trustees meeting will be canceled as well.

The Kirkland area is expected to pick up several inches into Monday evening, with a winter storm warning in effect until 4 p.m.

Puget Sound Energy is reporting on its outage map that more than 1,600 people are out of power on Finn Hill, while the City of Kirkland Twitter page has a message about a southbound lane on NE Juanita Drive being closed for a downed powerline.
