Lake Washington girls close season with loss on Mercer Island

The Mercer Island High girls basketball team knocked Lake Washington from contention for the conference tournament on Jan. 31 on Mercer Island.

Lake Washington (1-13, 2-18) scored seven points in the first half. Freshman Jen Estes led the Kangs with 11 points.

Mercer Island (17-3, 14-0) captured its first KingCo title since 2010.

It was the final game for Lake Washington seniors Kathy Helf, Tori Bivens, Olivia Smallman and Marissa Ewald.
