New ballot box installed at Kirkland City Hall

A new ballot drop box was opened last Friday at Kirkland City Hall. The box will serve area residents, providing a more accessible and convenient location to drop off ballots.

In a short ceremony attended by local and county officials, Kirkland Mayor Amy Walen cut the ribbon on one of 19 new box locations throughout the county for the primary elections, with another 14 to be opened by the general elections.

The increase in ballot boxes was approved earlier this year by the King County Council.

Kirkland’s ballot box joins others in the area, including ones at the Bellevue, Kingsgate and Bothell Regional Libraries, Redmond City Hall, and the Crossroads Shopping Center.

Ballots can also be mailed in and must be postmarked or dropped in a ballot box no later than Aug. 2.
