Kirkland resident Lyman honored by the Society of Professional Journalists

Kirkland resident and Sound Publishing freelance journalist Francesca Lyman was honored by the Society of Professional Journalists on June 18 at the organization’s 2016 Western Region awards gala.
Lyman was honored with the first-place award for investigative reporting for her story “Profiting from thrift,” which was written for the non-profit InvestigateWest and printed in the Reporter’s sister publication The Seattle Weekly.
The SPJ Western Region journalism contest covers five western states: Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana.
