Lake Washington downs Bellevue 10-2 | Prep baseball

The Lake Washington High baseball team won for the seventh time in a row on Monday, erasing an early deficit to blow past Bellevue for a 10-2 KingCo League win in Bellevue.

The Kangaroos (14-1 overall, 12-1) remain a game ahead of Mercer Island in the loss column for first place in the KingCo 3A League standings with five games remaining in the regular season.

The Kangs gave up a run on an error in the top of the first, but scored seven runs of their own over the next four innings as Nick Ludwig shut down Bellevue.

Ludwig finished with nine strikeouts in six innings with two hits and one earned run. Ethan Ligget stepped in for the final frame.

Kevin Nakahara had a solid day on offense, finishing with two hits and two RBIs. The Kangs picked up four doubles: one each from Matt Scheffler, Jake Steele, Jake Wikel and Connor Johnson.

Next, Lake Washington meets rival Juanita High at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at Lee Johnson Field in Kirkland.
