Published 9:10 am Friday, March 11, 2016

The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

Drivers who use State Route 520 overnight are encouraged to stay engaged and plan ahead for nighttime closures. Beginning Monday, March 14, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will deliver and place bridge girders for the West Approach Bridge North Project. A total of 353 girders will be delivered and placed in position through 2016. The girders will eventually support the bridge deck for new westbound lanes between the floating bridge and Montlake Boulevard.

During the first night of girder installation, crews will close all lanes and ramps of SR 520 between Montlake Boulevard and 92nd Avenue Northeast to ensure that the trucks can safely maneuver into the construction staging area.
