Many non-profit organizations operating locally rely on volunteers to help them accomplish their good work.

These organizations, whose mission is to assist various causes like underprivileged youth, senior citizens in need, animals and the environment, can only truly succeed with the assistance of generous citizens who donate their time.

If you have considered volunteering for a worthy cause but did not know how to involve yourself; or have not previously considered it, we have an easy option for you to gain information about volunteering your time in the service of others.

The Kirkland Senior Council is hosting Viva Volunteers! Volunteer Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Peter Kirk Community Center in Kirkland. This event will consist of approximately twenty different non-profit organizations explaining their programs to attendees who may wish to get involved and make a difference in our community.

Attendance is free and there will be complimentary snacks, drinks and door prizes donated by Kirkland merchants.

Your attendance is encouraged, volunteering your time to assist others fills a critical need and also provides you with tremendous satisfaction.
