Road closures this weekend for Kirkland Summerfest, Rave Green Run

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to Kirkland Summerfest Aug. 7-8 and the Rave Green Run on Aug. 9. The city’s boat launch will remain open, however boaters should expect delays. Event goers are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, and plan for their parking in advance. Event organizers expect 20,000 attendees. The event raises money for the Kirkland Downtown Association (KDA).
On Aug. 7, the following closures will be in effect starting 5 a.m. through Sunday at noon: Lakeshore Plaza Lot, Lakeshore Plaza and Kirkland Avenue from the city dock to Lake Street.
On Aug. 8, the following closures will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Lake Street from Central Way to 2nd Avenue, Kirkland Avenue from Lake Street to Main Street, Park Lane from Lake Street to Main Street and Lake and Central parking lot.
On Aug. 9, commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Rave Green Run to be held at Juanita Beach Park on Sunday, August 9, 2015. The beach parking lot and NE Juanita Drive from 93rd Avenue NE to 98th Avenue NE will be closed and detours in place from 10:00 a.m. until approximately noon. In addition, 97th Avenue NE from NE Juanita Drive to NE 120th Street will be closed from 5 a.m. to noon. Event organizers expect 2,500 attendees will participate in the event which raises money for Washington Global Health Alliance.
