Kirkland resident graduates from Emerson College

Kirkland resident Lauren Marie Scovel has graduated summa cum laude from Emerson College in Boston.

Lauren graduated with a double major, earning a BA in writing, literature and publishing and a BA in theatre studies: acting. She is a lifelong resident of the Norkirk neighborhood and a 2011 Lake Washington High School graduate.

Lauren plans to settle in the Seattle area to pursue her interest in creative nonfiction writing.
