Slow first quarter sinks Lake Washington | Prep boys basketball

The Lake Washington High School boys basketball team lost to Mercer Island, 74-50, on Tuesday in Mercer Island.

The Kangs fell behind 26-8 during the first quarter. The teams played to a stalemate during the second quarter but Mercer Island put the game away during the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 18-10.

Zace Lewis and Kyle Departee led Lake Washington with 14 points each.
