On Sept. 26, Kirkland Oktoberfest and Mayor Amy Walen tapped the firkin surrounded by a record number of attendees.

This three-day authentic German festival drew crowds into the thousands – surprisingly way beyond our expectations. People from all over flocked in droves dressed in dirndls and lederhosen ready to hoist their steins.

Despite the long food and beer lines our wonderfully patient Kirkland crowd kept the positive Oom Pah Pah spirit strong as they danced their way through the festival. Even more patient were our volunteers who put in countless hours and stuck around to help even after their shifts were over. These community heroes do not always get the recognition that they deserve but without our volunteers these events would not be possible.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your time, patience and commitment.
