The artwork from the Summerfest Young Artists Exhibition is now featured in the display cases of the Kirkland Public Library and at Kirkland City Hall through the end of the month. The displays are open to the public.
The Kirkland’s Summerfest the Young Artists Exhibition drew crowds of all ages to see artwork entered by local young artists up to 18 years old. The exhibition was part of the Summerfest festival that drew over 40,000 visitors during Aug. 8-10. The exhibition displayed 86 unique pieces of art including paintings in oil and watercolor, mixed media, collage, photography and sculpture, inspired by the theme “Summertime Fun.” Several of this year’s artists were return participants. In addition to the amazing art on display, there were two art tables set up with materials to make fish wind socks.
All artists who entered received a participants ribbon and first prizes were awarded to one artist in each of the four age categories. In addition the organizing team selected 12 committee choice awards.
