Driver identified who was killed in single-vehicle accident in Kirkland on Friday

The adult male who was killed Friday night when his vehicle left the roadway on Simonds Road Northeast and crashed into an embankment has been identified by Kirkland police as Kyle J. Reel.

Kirkland Police responded at approximately 10:50 p.m. to a report of a possible accident and arrived to find two adult males with injuries received in the collision.

Kirkland Fire Department aid and fire personnel also arrived, but the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger was alive and transported to Evergreen Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Kirkland Police Traffic Unit was on scene conducting the investigation into the crash. Excessive speed is a possible factor in the incident.

Kirkland police are still investigating this case.
