TV ad against Rep. Roger Goodman crosses line | Letter

I am writing in response to the disgusting ad being run on local cable TV against Roger Goodman, incumbent candidate for State Legislature 45th District, Pos. 1. KOMO TV did a piece about it on the evening news last night. It featured an interview with the “friend” of his opponent who is spearheading and funding this smear ad. The ad is about as ugly as it gets, dredging up two-year-old divorce papers and dragging Roger’s family through the mud. Really folks, is dirty politics the best his opponent can do to get into the news?
Joel Hussey must not have much to recommend him for this office if he has to stoop to such tactics or allow someone to act on his behalf. This effort should violate anyone’s standard of common decency.
I know Roger to be a responsible parent and a dedicated legislator who has the support of many local groups and large numbers of citizens. He’s earned my support by his accomplishments in office and his responsiveness to the needs of his constituents.
