Kirklanders should check wetsuit prices soon or suffer the chilling consequences because the 12th annual Polar Bear Plunge is quickly approaching.

Set to take place at 1 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2014, the Polar Bear Plunge will be held at Marina Park on Lake Washington.

The city sponsored the annual event for several years until the budget suffered cutbacks in 2009. Many continue the News Year’s tradition unofficially.
