Rotary Club of Kirkland supports Kirkland Police Department

At a recent Monday night meeting, proceeds from the Rotary Club of Kirkland Foundation Auction were presented to Chief Eric Olsen to purchase two agent alarm systems that will aid members of the community and the police officers protecting them.
The agent alarm system can be installed in a home where families suffering the abuse of domestic violence are living and provide an added level of security for them. The system allows the police department to respond more quickly when needed, which gives a greater sense of security to those who are being threatened by an abuser.
The system cuts several minutes off the time it takes to notify police of a problem and can be the difference that allows them to arrive in time to stop a situation from escalating.
The Rotary Club of Kirkland Foundation holds an annual auction with the proceeds being determined prior to the event. This year two recipients were determined with the Kirkland Police Department receiving funds to purchase two agent alarm systems. The club meets every Monday at 6:15 p.m. at the Woodmark Hotel.
