Do you want to feel like you are on Tiger Mountain or in Seward Park while standing in your backyard? Introducing native plants to your yard can give you that feeling. Native plants are also suited to our Washington state weather, provide erosion control, and offer valuable sources of food and shelter to wildlife.

Do you wonder where to start? If so, come visit the Washington Native Plant Society (WNPS) Spring Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 12 at Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main St., Bellevue. Experts will be on hand to answer all questions about native plants and how to start your landscaping projects – big or small.

You’ll find a wide assortment of thousands of native plants in one location. If you are interested in learning more about Pacific Northwest plants or ecology, books will be on sale along with other botanically-themed gifts.

Want to shop early but aren’t a member of the Washington Native Plant Society? Not a problem – you can buy a membership and take advantage of the early shopping opportunity from 9-10 a.m. Plants go fast, so this is a great perk!
