Kirkland annexation area residents appointed to advisory boards

At its April 8 special meeting, the Kirkland City Council unanimously approved the appointments of annexation area residents to the following city boards and commissions: Human Services Advisory Committee: Jamie Belouskas and Barbara McGrath were appointed to two year terms ending March 31, 2012; Library Board: Shawn Thornsberry was appointed to a two year term ending March 31, 2012. Erik Morgenstern was selected as an alternate should Thornsberry vacate her seat in the next six months; Park Board: Barbara Ramey and Ted Marx were appointed to two year terms ending March 31, 2012. Barbara Eckley was selected as an alternate should either Ramey or Marx vacate their seats in the next six months; Planning Commission: Jon Pascal and George Pressley were appointed to two year terms ending March 31, 2012. Michael Stanger was selected as an alternate should either Pascal or Pressley vacate their seats in the next six months.
In March, the Kirkland City Council unanimously approved the temporary expansion of membership to its Planning Commission, Park Board, Human Services Advisory Committee by two seats and the Library Board by one seat to allow for annexation area residents to become involved with the city prior to annexation taking affect on June 1, 2011.
