Softball teams hammer out more wins

Lake Washington’s Amy Chen and Anastasia Kotsakis nailed four hits apiece in the Kangs’ 21-8 victory over Mercer Island in 3A KingCo softball action on Monday.

Chen had three doubles, a triple and three RBIs. LW amassed 21 hits.

For Juanita, the Rebels defeated Bellevue, 15-10, behind 17 hits.

Jordan Schroeder led the bat barrage with four hits, including three doubles and four RBIs; Abbie Reynolds had three hits and four RBIs; and Kaci Gordon had two doubles and three RBIs.

On the Kirkland baseball front, LW and Juanita will square off at 4 p.m. May 3 in the 3A KingCo tournament at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. The winner will advance to the championship game against an opponent to be determined at 7 p.m. May 5 while the loser will play at 10 a.m. May 5, also against an opponent to be determined. Both games will be played at Bannerwood.
