Northwest U takes down Evergreen

The Evergreen State gave Northwest University a battle during Saturday’s volleyball game in Olympia, but the Eagles emerged victorious with a 3-1 Cascade Conference victory to improve to 8-2 for the season and 2-0 in conference play.

Amanda Waterman led the Eagles (8-2, 2-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) with nine kills. Sarah Warner and Mattie Jo Johnson each added eight kills and Morgan Pilon would finish with 20 assists. Alysanne Van Dyke had a match high 25 digs with Sydney Schlect adding 16 and Warner completing the double-double with 14 digs.

The Evergreen State (4-5, 1-1 CCC) was led by Natalie Taylor who had 18 kills and 10 digs. Megan Breckenridge added 13 kills and 23 digs and Matalasi Laban totaling 37 assists for a match high. Tori Wegdahl added 23 digs.

Next up, NU will be on the road next weekend in Oregon for a big match with Corban University in Salem and Northwest Christian in Eugene.
