Northwest University goalkeepers Daniel Christenson and Kat Sanchez have been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Red Lion Defensive Players of the Week.

Christenson, an NU graduate student from Bothell, earned the shutout victory for the men in the Eagles’ 3-0 win over Linfield College (Oregon) on Saturday. During the game, he repeatedly took away Linfield scoring opportunities with eight saves in both periods.

Sanchez, the Eagles sophomore goalkeeper from Arlington, Washington, was a contributing factor to the Eagle women’s 4-1 win on Friday over Linfield College. Sanchez made nine key saves that denied Linfield the tying goal, leading 2-1, and kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard after their only score in the 38th minute.
