Lake Washington swimming beats Redmond, Juanita loses to Bellevue

The Lake Washington High boys swim team beat Redmond, 104-82, in the season opener on Dec. 1 at the Juanita Aquatic Center.

Lake Washington’s Carlin Wong won two individual events and helped the Kangs (1-0) to win the 200-yard medley relay. Wong won the 100 butterfly in 54.81 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:36.16. Will Reeves, Louis Norred and Jake Rinehart completed the 200 medley team.

LW’s Hayes Raubacher won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.8, and won the 500 freestyle in 5:08.16.

Reinhart also won the 100 breaststroke.

Next, the Kangs are scheduled for a conference meet against Liberty at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Boehm Pool in Issaquah.

Bellevue 132, Juanita 48.

The Wolverenes dominated in the season opener on Dec. 1 at Mary Wayte Pool on Mercer Island. Bellevue won every swimming event and took second in every event with the exception of the 200 medley relay and the 100 freestyle.

Juanita sophomore Nathan Limono finished second in the 100 free, posting a time of 53.04 seconds. The Juanita 200 medley relay team — Enoch Lee, Michael Gengo, Charlie Kullman and Blaine Dahlman-oeth — finished second in 1:52.

Juanita freshman Alexander Evans won the diving portion.

Next, the Rebels are scheduled to host Mercer Island at 3 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Juanita Aquatic Center.
