Lake Washington dance team shines at dance and drill state championships

The Lake Washington High School dance team competed at the WIAA dance and drill state championships, which took place March 24 in Yakima.

Competing against teams spanning the 1A, 2A and 3A classes, Lake Washington won first place in both the Military and Pom dance categories. The Kangs tallied a winning team score of 285.6 in the Military competition and scored 291.5 in the Pom competition.

Lake Washington coach Lindsey Ryan was named the WIAA dance team Coach of the Year for the 1A, 2A and 3A classifications.

Lake Washington dance team members include Kaia Grobstock, Angela Johnson, Paris Rae Johnson, Sydney Wickman, Kayla Torimoto, Grace Klinge, Riley Sampson, Victoria Zaitsev, Jaeda McCormick, Kayla Brodie, Anja Hanson, Sage Boyd, Sophie Crane, Maddie Burns, Sam Tsubota, Phoebe Mangouras, Malia Berbano, Hannah Abboud, Elle Seeler, Ella Bettinger, Arisa Brown, Arianne Green and Anna Rongerude. The team is coached by Ryan, Amy Moorhead, Kayla Misday and Jeanne Gloudemans.
