Juanita’s boys soccer team defeated Mercer Island, 2-1, in overtime on Tuesday night in a loser-out contest in the 3A KingCo playoffs.

Interlake will host the Rebels at 7 p.m. Thursday in another loser-out contest. The winner will play a Metro squad on Saturday for KingCo’s second spot to state.

Juanita sophomore Victor Ramos Aguilar scored the golden goal in the last minute of the first period of overtime from a cross into the box by junior Van Monday.

Sophomore A-Lor scored Juanita’s first goal near the 10-minute mark off of a cross in the box from Ramos Aguilar.

“Tomorrow’s game will be equally exciting!” Juanita head coach Matt Brown said in an email.
