Eagles improve to 5-0 with win against Loggers | College men’s basketball

Kirkland’s Northwest University (NU) improved to 5-0 on the season with a 91-83 victory against the University of Puget Sound Nov. 10 in the NU Pavilion. Puget Sound made a late charge, cutting a 20-point NU lead down to single digits during the final minutes.

Five Eagles (5-0) scored in double figures, as Dak Shagren led the way with 20 points. Tre’ Benton added 18 points and seven rebounds; Michael Dupree with 17 points and six assists; Ben Tucakovic with 12; and Kaelan Hicks with 11 points a eight rebounds. NU shot 46 percent and held a 48-35 rebound margin with the taller line-up.

Puget Sound, playing the contest as an exhibition, was led by Jimmy Wohrer’s 28 points as he hit 8-of-15 on three-point shots, four came during the Loggers late run in the second half. Kohl Meyer score 19 points with four assists and Easton Driessen contributed nine points for UPS. UPS shot 42 percent for the game.
