Bothell High’s Shawn Warner named conference co-Coach of the Year | Girls prep soccer

Bothell High girls soccer coach Shawn Warner was named the 4A KingCo co-Coach of the Year in a recent vote by conference coaches.

The Cougars went 7-9-1 overall this season, finishing fifth in the conference standings before upsetting Eastlake on Nov. 1 in the first round of the conference tournament.

Warner won the award without a single player on the all-conference first team.

Bothell had two players with second-team honors: senior forward Madison Hommer and junior goalkeeper Emily Heffernan.

Bothell senior Samantha Morse and sophomores Kaitlin Bean, Antonia Miranda and Estera Levinte made the honorable-mention squad.

Inglemoor junior Kelsy Berge made the all-conference second team. Inglemoor senior goalkeeper Saya Brown, juniors Kylie Russell and Sadie Sheller and sophomore Nicole van Englen made the honorable-mention squad.

Eastlake’s Marc Wilson tied Warner for Coach of the Year. Eastlake’s Brooke Chandler and Issaquah’s Mariah Van Halm tied for offensive player of the year, while Skyline’s Marissa Carpenter and Issaquah’s Sean Eaton tied for defensive player of the year.
