Barker scores 20 as Lake Washington boys beat Inglemoor

Lake Washington’s big sophomore came through for the Kangs in the season opener, leading the home team to a 76-51 nonconference win over Inglemoor on Dec. 2 at Lake Washington High School.

Griffin Barker finished with 20 points, leading all scorers in the victory for the Kangs (1-0).

LW senior guards Jordan Richter and Sam Linskey had 16 points and 14 points, respectively.

Ryan Hamilton led the Vikings (0-2) with 18 points.

Next, Lake Washington is scheduled to open the conference schedule with a home game against Interlake at 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 6.

Redmond 74, Juanita 49.

The Rebels’ had trouble hitting baskets in their second game of the season after a big offensive performance in the season opener against Bothell.

Juanita (0-2) trailed 26-17 after the first quarter, and Redmond outscored the Rebels 19-8 in the third period.

The Rebels are scheduled to open conference play on Dec. 6 at home against Sammamish.

Girls basketball

Redmond 60, Juanita 52.

Senior Tea Adams had her first big game of the year on Dec. 2, scoring 19 points and finishing with six steals and two blocks as the Rebels fell to 1-1.

Redmond led 15-11 after the first quarter and dominated the third period.

Junior Hannah Kleppe had seven points and Brandi White had six points.

Inglemoor 51, Lake Washington 28.

Inglemoor beat Lake Washington on Dec. 2 at LWHS. The Vikings improved to 3-0.

Next, the Kangs (0-1) are scheduled to play Interlake at 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 7 at home.
