Kangs gymnastics team loses close meet to Islanders

The Lake Washington High School gymnastics team traveled to Mercer Island Thursday and the home gym advantage may have been the difference in a close 142.25-139.35 loss.
The Kangs swept the top three spots during bars, as Stephanie Goodman of Lake Washington took first with a 7.0, Sydney Woolf was second with a 6.8 and Haley Huntington rounded out the top three with a 6.7. The Islanders came back to sweep the top three spots on beam.
Huntington took first place on floor by earning a score of 8.4 and then went on to finish third on vault with an 8.25. Woolf took first on vault with a score of 8.5.
The Kangs will travel to Woodinville Thursday for an in-league 7 p.m. meet.
