Kangs get big comeback win

The Lake Washington girls returned from break Wednesday, losing to Skyline 64-47. The Kangs struggled during the second and third quarters on offense, which led to their downfall. Colleen Walsh and Kasey Coffey the Kangs with 18 and 10 points respectively.

The Lake Washington girls finished the week with a 45-43 victory against Roosevelt behind a huge fourth quarter comeback. The Kangs and Roughriders played close during the first half as Roosevelt took a two-point lead into the half. The Kangs struggled during the third quarter, scoring just six points, as the Roughriders increased their lead to nine points. But Lake Washington’s defense stepped up during the fourth quarter, holding a frustrated Roosevelt team to just three points as the Kangs completed an improbable comeback for the victory. Lake Washington was led by Walsh with 21 points and Katarina Whitfield with 14 points.

Lake Washington will host Eastlake for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off tonight.
