Juanita pounds Liberty with five home runs | Prep girls softball

The softball diamond looked more like the track around the Juanita High School football field on Monday, as the Juanita High School girls softball team hit five home runs during a 14-5 victory against Liberty in Kirkland.

Madi Hedlund, Milly Kawabata, Lisa Nelson, Aimee Richardson and Clare Sovacool all hit home runs for the Rebels. Richardson finished the game with three hits, including a triple, while Nelson and Hedlund were 2-for-4. Morgan Figueroa finished 4-for-5 with three doubles.

Kawabata earned the victory from the pitching circle, throwing a complete game, giving up four earned runs and striking out nine batters.
