Kangs hold 'Cats to single digit second half during win | Prep girls basketball

The Lake Washington High School girls basketball team held Mount Si to single digits in scoring Friday during a 53-34 victory in Kirkland.

The teams played a competitive first half, as the Wildcats built a 25-20 advantage by halftime. But the Kang defense stepped up during the second half, holding Mount Si to just five third-quarter points and four fourth-quarter points.

In contrast, the Lake Washington offense came alive during the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points.

Leading the way for the Kangs was Sydney Shepard with 15 points, Johnna Jahnke with 13 and Hannah Brender scored 10.
