2017 All-KingCo girls basketball: Tea Adams named to fourth all-KingCo list

Coaches named Juanita High senior Tea Adams to the all-KingCo Conference list for the fourth consecutive year in a recent vote.

Adams was a first-team member as a freshman, the conference defensive player of the year as a sophomore and a first-team member as a junior.

The San Diego State commit is the all-time leading scorer for the Rebels with over 1,700 points for her career. Adams has averaged 22.5 points, 3.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season — all career-highs.

The Rebels (14-9) finished in a tie for third in the conference standings and lost to Mercer Island in the semifinals of the conference tournament. Juanita beat Redmond on Feb. 9 in the KingCo tournament, then lost to Cleveland in the first round of the Sea-King District tournament on Feb. 11 in Seattle.

Adams scored 21 points in the loss, and finished with seven steals.

Adams’ teammate and fellow senior Brittany White earned second-team honors. White was the team’s second-leading scorer before fracturing a bone in her arm late in the season.

Lake Washington junior Sydney Olson made the honorable mention list. The Kangs (2-18) finished last in the conference standings and missed the postseason.

Mercer Island’s Anna Luce earned the KingCo 2A/3A MVP. Mercer Island’s Gillian d’Hondt won Coach of the Year, and Sammamish senior Promise Taylor was named Defensive Player of the Year.
