Juanita girls fall to No. 1 Franklin at districts | Playoff update

After earned a close win over Holy Names last weekend, the Juanita girls basketball team faced the No. 1 girls team from Metro on Tuesday night, Franklin.
Franklin won it’s first game of the district tournament 54-36, pushing the Rebels move into the consolation bracket of districts.
Franklin led 11-7 at the end of the first quarter on Tuesday night, but Juanita held on in the second quarter, down by four point at halftime.
After the break Juanita kept pace, holding Franklin to 14 points in the third quarter, while scoring 11. But a 19-8 fourth quarter finished the game for the Rebels.
Kate Cryderman had nine points during the loss, while Molly Grager added eight and Taylor Lloyd had six. Winnie Levitt and Molly Steck added four points, with Bre Carter posting three and Mikayla Jones adding two.
The Rebels will now face Liberty on Friday, Feb. 17 at 8:15 p.m. at Bellevue College. The team must win to continue in the tournament, looking for the final spot into the regional round of the state tournament.
If Juantia beats Liberty, the team will play on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. against the winner of the Cleveland vs. Lakeside game.
