Lake Washington beats Sammamish | Prep swimming results

The Lake Washington girls swim team saw two varsity meets last week, splitting the outcomes. Tuesday, Oct. 11 against Bellevue, the Kangs lost 112-46, before beating Sammamish on Oct. 13.

Against Bellevue the Kangs had a win in the diving competition, with Tori Meier earning the top spot with a 163.20 score.

Thursday, against the Totems, Lake Washington won 111-71.

The Kangs won the 200 freestyle event with Jessica McKinney taking the top spot at 2:10.03, and Clare Kucinski-Murphy winning the 50 freestyle race in 26.15. Shay Sarda won the diving competition with 176.45 points, while McKinney also won the 100 freestyle race in 57.75. Laura Chopp finished the 500 freestyle race in 6:02.60 for the top spot. In the 200 freestyle event the Lake Washington team of Kucinski-Murphy, Brooke Bonnell, Alexa LeMaster and McKinney took first in 1:51.32. Kucinski-Murphy was also first in the 100 backstroke race in 1:04.5, while Chopp was first in the 100 breast stroke at 1:16.96. In the 400 freestyle relay the group of McKinney, LeMaster, Chopp and Kucinski-Murphy took first in 4:12.48.

The Kangs also beat Liberty and Juanita this season.
