The Juanita and Lake Washington cross country teams will compete in Thursday's KingCo meet in Lake Sammamish State Park.

The event will begin with the varsity girls race at 2:45 p.m. followed by the varsity boys at 3:15 p.m. The awards presentation will take place at 4:45 p.m.

The top four teams and 20 individuals will qualify for the SeaKing meet on Thursday, Oct. 27, which will also be held at Lake Sammamish State Park.

This week is also the KingCo boys tennis tournament, taking place at Eastlake and Skyline high schools.

The girls swimming KingCo conference meet will take place Oct. 28-29.

Qualified swimmers will begin Friday Oct. 28 at the University of Washington pool in the preliminary rounds at 2 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 29 at Mary Wayte Pool on Mercer Island, swimmers who advance to the finals will take to the pool at 3:45 p.m. The diving competition will take place at the Juanita pool starting at 9:30 a.m.

Qualifiers will advance to SeaKing district meet the next weekend.

The KingCo volleyball tournament will begin Oct. 27 at Sammamish High School. Depending on a team's seed, games will held at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The top four teams in the tournament will move on to the SeaKing district tournament the following weekend, held at West Seattle and Sammamish high schools.

In football, the top three KingCo teams earn spots in the Week 10 playoff bracket. Those three teams play various local teams to determine who gets which seed going into the first round of the state competition.

In girls soccer, the top KingCo team from the KingCo tournament earns a state berth, while the No. 2 team plays a Metro team in a win-to-get-in game.

Post season information will be updated as it becomes available.
