The Lake Washington PTSA Council has unanimously endorsed a redefinition of Basic Education and its full funding by Washington State. The Council--representing more than 15,000 members of PTA units in the Lake Washington School District--approved the resolution that includes implementation of the Core 24 graduation requirements set by the State Board of Education and All-Day Kindergarten.

The Lake Washington School District covers all or parts of Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish plus unincorporated areas lying along the district's border. All or parts of the 32nd, 45th, 48th and 4th legislative districts and the 1st and 8th Congressional districts fall within the school district's boundaries.
