Get the whole story behind Kirkland’s parks
August 6, 2008 · Updated 1:13 PM
The article you wrote on Doris Cooper was very nice. However, I believe you should hear the “rest of the story” from our first city manager, Al Locke.
He and Jeanyne live at Mason Lake most of the summer but also have a condo here in Kirkland. I talked with him and verified his work with the governments matching funds way back when, and that was the start of getting all of our waterfront parks.
I hope you will contact him to get the beginning of the story about Kirkland’s parks -- he is a great guy, and I know he would love to tell you about all the things that went on before Doris and during her time.
