Don’t want Kirkland Hyundai customer to have same experience | Letter
I scheduled an appointment at Kirkland Hyundai Sept. 11 for an oil change and wiper replacement after a trip from Missouri to Washington. The advisor informed me that I had a nail in my front right passenger-side tire and it couldn’t be patched, and a new tire would cost me $170, plus $15 for mounting.
After visually inspecting the tire, my spouse and I thanked the technician and advisor, but declined to purchase a new tire and told them we will get the tire repaired.
Later that day, we went to visit our nephew in Tacoma and he noticed the car was leaking oil. We thought the problem was an overfill. The next day, Discount Tire repaired our tire free without an issue.
We became concerned when the oil spot increased in size, so during a stop in Moses Lake Sept. 14, the Havoline Express technician checked our oil drain plug and informed us that it was dangerously loose. He tightened it and no more leaks.
I left a voice message with Kirkland Hyundai detailing my concern and that the technician should have a refresher course on oil changing and tire repair. I do not want another Hyundai customer to go through what I experienced.
