Kirkland resident Stu Clarke was an inspiration | LETTER

March 28, 2012 · Updated 1:21 PM

Your story about Stu Clarke in the Kirkland Reporter dated Aug. 8, 2011 by Rachel Harris caught my eye when I was searching the internet for Stu Clarke.

Stu was my former scout master while I was attending junior high school in Hong Kong. I was one of his scouts in Troop 1, Hong Kong 1977-1978.

He took us on 50 mile backpacking trips to Taiwan and Korea.  He was the inspiration for my love of the outdoors and finally achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Karl Klass, Milford, Conn.
