Let’s not let transgender discrimination get to the ballot | Letter

No transgender person, child or adult, intentionally chooses a more difficult path in life… that path chooses him/her. And it is not the job of our society to make this path any harder than it already is.

Yet that’s exactly what the people behind I-1552 are intending to do. I-1552 would repeal Washington’s decade old protection of transgender people. It sets us back to a path of discrimination while we are working toward a more just and accepting society.

My hope is that you will decline to sign I-1552. Don’t even allow it to get to the November ballot. Thank you.
