Schools in Kirkland that are part of the Lake Washington School District will begin two-hours late on Monday, Feb. 27. The district has also announced that all after school activities and events for Mondya have been canceled.

The snow began to fall early in the morning and started to stick to roads in Kirkland around 6:30 a.m. With the snow moving east, the district decided to call the late start around 7:30 a.m.

A message on the district’s website said: “A two-hour late start has been called for all grades, all levels. No morning preschool. Students who are already on buses are safe. They will be transported when roads are passable.”
