Street closures and foot traffic Saturday for Turkey Trot in Kirkland

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the annual Hopelink Turkey Trot to be held in Marina Park on Sunday, Nov. 20. A route map is posted on line at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents.

A partial closure of the Lakeshore Plaza Parking Lot and Kirkland Avenue from Lake Street to the City dock will be in effect from 6 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The southbound lane of Lake Street from Kirkland Avenue to Second Avenue South will close temporarily at 10 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes during start of race.

Commuters should watch for increased pedestrian traffic along the waterfront between Kirkland Avenue and Carillon Point from 10 a.m. – noon.

The Hopelink hosted event attracts more than 1,500 participants each year and raises money to provide assistance to low-income families in east and north King County.

Event goers are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, and plan for their parking in advance.
