Between March 10-16, the Kirkland Police Department reported 467 traffic violations (three DUIs), 23 alarm calls, 11 car accidents, 16 noise complaints, nine thefts, six car prowls, eight domestic violence calls, six acts of fraud, 13 calls of a disturbance, one burglary and 10 calls of harassment. At least 43 people were arrested.

March 15

Domestic: 8:52 p.m., 10400 block of N.E. 125th Place. A 38-year-old Kirkland woman called 911 to report an assault by her 54-year-old husband. The woman said that he grabbed her by the throat, slapped, hit and knocked her to the ground. The woman had no complaints of pain and no visible injuries. The man was taken into custody and booked for fourth degree assault.

March 14

Assault: 12:05 a.m., 15 Lake Street. A 21-year-old Kenmore man was told he could not enter the Lake Street Bar and Grill because he appeared intoxicated. While being escorted out of the building the man became physically assaultive and punched the head of a security guard several times. During a search the man was found to have one gram of suspected marijuana. The man was arrested.

March 13

Hit and run: 8:13 p.m., 11200 block of N.E. 128th Street. A 27-year-old woman had her vehicle struck while it was parked on the side of the road. A witness saw a vehicle speeding off but could not get a license plate number. The side mirror from the suspect vehicle was left behind. The woman performed a search of the neighborhood looking for a car with a missing mirror and found one a block north that matched. The owner of the car was contacted in his residence intoxicated. The man said that he lives alone and is the only person that drives the vehicle. The man denied driving the vehicle but later admitted to driving in the same area during the same time that the accident took place. The man was arrested.

Assault: 1:40 a.m., 12301 120th Ave. N.E. A security guard at Rodeo Steakhouse Bar was standing outside when he noticed two security guards inside the bar attempting to remove two males from the premisses. One of the males was fighting back against the security guards as they got to the front door. He noticed the subject cock his arm back and make a fist as he reached the front door, to try and punch one of the guards as he was not looking. The man grabbed the suspect and pulled him outside. The suspect struck the guard in the cheek, who was pulling him outside, with a fist or elbow. The guard took the suspect to the ground. The security guard said that the suspect hit the back of his head on the ground but at no time lost consciousness. The suspect was then placed in handcuffs. Both men refused medical treatment and the suspect was arrested.

Hit-and-run: N.E. 60th Street and 114th Ave. N.E. A witness called in to report an overturned vehicle. The vehicle was located empty next to landscaping damage in a neighborhood resident’s yard. The father of the suspect arrived and informed officers his 14-year-old son had taken the vehicle without permission and caused the accident 45 minutes earlier. The son was contacted and arrested for hit-and-run property damage.

March 12

Illegal substance: 12:37 p.m., 430 18th Ave. A juvenile was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 11

Theft: 11:22 a.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 17-year-old woman was stopped and arrested at Costco after she failed to pay for approximately $100 worth of store merchandise.

Assault: 1 a.m., 10000 N.E. 116th Street. A man was arrested for shoving a female to the ground during an altercation.

March 10

Sex, other: 12500 block of 128th Lane. A Nintendo DSI device, which was returned under warranty from the Richland Target, was found to contain pornographic images of a child.

Assault: 11:30 a.m., 12400 block of 110th Lane N.E. An officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a father and son. Upon arrival the officer contacted the man outside the residence who told officers his son was inside the apartment, destroying property and had threatened him with a Samurai sword. The 16-year-old son was arrested.
