Search continues for Seattle murder suspect on Eastside

The King County Sheriff’s Office believes murder suspect Mical Roberts could be hiding out in Kirkland or another Eastside city.

And detectives are asking anyone with any information or tips to come forward, as their search for Roberts enters another week.

Roberts, who King County prosecutors charged with first-degree murder in late December 2018, is wanted for a Seattle murder that happened on Nov. 19, 2018 in the 10000 block of 1st Avenue Southwest. There is currently a $2 million warrant out for his arrest, said Sgt. Ryan Abbott of the sheriff’s office.

Roberts also has a failure to appear warrant with the Department of Corrections. The department was supervising the suspect during the time he allegedly committed the murder. Both are felony warrants.

On Nov. 19 a female called 911 from a bedroom closet stating that a shooting was occurring at the Seattle residence, a two-story house that had a family residing on the top floor, with the bottom floor converted into an apartment, court documents state.

Deputies arrived a short time later and located victim Ricardo Villa Senor, 26, in the house with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim and his girlfriend had sat on his bed to eat tamales when they heard the sound of multiple people entering the upstairs unit, the documents detail. The pair became uneasy and Senor retrieved his gun and shut and locked his bedroom door. The intruders began to kick on the door and gunfire was exchanged.

The victim died at the scene from his injuries, the result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities worry Roberts might “do this to somebody else,” Abbott said.

A swab of blood, taken from outside the upstairs front door, was sent to the state crime lab for DNA analysis, court documents state. The blood matched Roberts’ DNA profile.

Abbott said detectives believe the suspect could be hiding out on the Eastside — being sheltered by some of his many friends or family who reside in the area. Abbott said people may be hesitant to call and report Roberts’ location out of fear.

“Somebody knows where he’s at and is not calling us for some reason,” Abbott said, adding that the murder weapon — a 9 mm handgun — was never recovered.

The defendant has prior convictions in Washington for an assault with a deadly weapon enhancement, unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree and a juvenile adjudication for residential burglary, according to court documents.

Any tips provided to law enforcement that lead to Roberts’ arrest could be rewarded with a $1,000 award from Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound, Abbott said. Anonymity can be maintained throughout this process.

The suspect is described as a 24-year-old black male, 6 feet, 5 inches tall, 250 pounds, and is considered “armed and dangerous.” Anyone with information on Robert’s location is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 206-296-3311.
