Between Jan. 4-10 the Kirkland Police Department reported 704 traffic violations (seven DUIs), 32 school zone traffic violations, 29 alarm calls, 15 noise complaints, six calls of disturbance, 12 thefts, 12 car prowls, two car thefts, 34 acts of traffic abandonment, 12 calls of civil disturbance, nine reported burglaries, seven domestic violence calls, three calls for harassment, two alleged assaults, eight acts of fraud, seven reports of malicious mischief, two instances of illegal drugs, two sexual offenses, one reported rape, one robbery and three suicides. At least 24 people were arrested.

Jan. 7

Illegal drugs: 9:23 a.m., 12800 block of 98th Pl. N.E. A woman reported four to five hypodermic needles on the left-hand side of the road.

Domestic violence: 9:44 p.m., 7300 block of 132nd Ave. N.E. A 25-year-old man was taken into custody for assaulting a 28-year-old woman. When police arrived, the man hid while a 28-year-old man lied about where he was. But police saw the man through the window and arrested him for fourth-degree assault. The other man was arrested for obstruction and providing false statements to an officer.

Jan. 6

Domestic violence: 4 p.m., 6300 block of Lake Washington Blvd. N.E. A 58-year-old man was arrested for allegedly pushing, punching and poking his wife because she hid his alcohol. An investigation revealed the man was drunk and upset but denied any physical contact had occurred. The police report indicates he punched the victim in the back three to four times and poked her once in the stomach with a roll pin. The victim did not have any visible injuries.

Jan. 5

Juvenile theft: 6:50 p.m., 10000 block of 137th St. Two 16-year-old boys were arrested after trying to shoplift a 750 ml bottle of Smirnoff Vodka at the north Juanita Safeway. The two were cited for third-degree theft and minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.

Jan. 4

Illegal drugs: 12:21 p.m., 11600 block of 104th Ave. N.E. A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested on outstanding warrants. Police seized pepper spray and three-and-a-half pills of Clonidine, of which the man was in possession of without a prescription.

Trespass: 12:30 p.m., 11100 block of 129th St. A 28-year-old man was arrested for first-degree trespass after he admitted to being in the home of a 24-year-old man.

Jan. 3

Warrant: 4 p.m., 100 block of Lake St. S. A 21-year-old man was arrested on a felony warrant as he left work at the Milagro Cantina. Police discovered the man after an agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requested the man’s vehicle be located. The ICE agent had been following the man’s vehicle to arrest him on an immigration detainer but lost him in downtown traffic.
