Man arrested for DUI after passing out in Jack in the Box drive thru | Kirkland Police Blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. Between Dec. 22-28, there were 651 total incidents, including 78 traffic incidents, 13 traffic accidents, three DUIs, 10 general traffic incidents, five incidents involving illegal drugs, 41 alarm calls, nine abandoned vehicles, five burglaries, five incidents of fraud, 11 civil incidents, four cases of harassment, 14 thefts, 11 vehicle prowls, three vehicle thefts, four warrants served, 18 noise complaints, one animal call, 17 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 13 disturbances, one sex offense, six hit and runs and 18 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Dec. 22

Weapons: 8 p.m., location not disclosed; A 17-year-old boy was on his way home when he spotted a group armed with bats, knives and a BB gun rolling up to his home. Four males, including a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old and two 15-year-olds, were pulled from the vehicle. One had brass knuckles. Three of the subjects were released, but one of the 15-year-olds was arrested on weapons and drugs violations.

Assault: 10:54p.m., 12200 block of NE Totem Lake Way; A 20-year-old man grabbed the coat of his girlfriend around the neckline and shoulders. She broke free from his grip, but he put her in a rear choke hold with his arm and picked her up. She screamed for help, and a nearby witness came to her rescue. The man was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault.

Theft: 11:59 p.m., 12400 block of Totem Lake Blvd.; Rite Aid loss prevention caught a 23-year-old woman attempting to steal $150 worth of items from the store. The woman was processed on 3rd-degree theft charges and released from KPD.

Dec. 23

DUI: 1:02 a.m., 6300 block of Lakeview Drive; Police stopped a 29-year-old Bellevue man for speeding. The man was subsequently arrested for DUI after providing samples of .154 and .150.

Dec. 24

DUI: 1:29 p.m., 12400 block of NE 116th St.; A 33-year-old Carnation man was contacted while passed out in his Nissan Pathfinder in the drive-thru at the Jack in the Box on 116th St.; The man was found to be heavily intoxicated and had several bottles of vodka in his control. The man could not stand or walk and was incoherent. Medical responded and had to transport the man the EvergreenHealth due to his intoxication level. The man was arrested for DUI.

Domestic: 11 p.m., 200 block of 19th Place; A 24-year-old man called police to report a domestic violence assault involving him and his girlfriend of three years, a 24-year-old Bellevue woman. The man told police his girlfriend bit his hand trying to get his phone away from him. The woman did not want to talk at the scene and was arrested for assault. At Kirkland Jail, the woman provided a statement relating that the man accused her of cheating, tossed her to the ground and put his hand over her mouth so she could not yell. That’s when the woman bit the man’s hand. The woman also explained that the man pinned her to the floor and was slapping her as well. The man was arrested instead.

Dec. 25

Assault: 11:55 p.m., 11400 block of NE 92nd St.;A 21-year-old Newcastle, Wa., man was arrested for 4th-degree assault after getting into a verbal altercation with another man and striking him in the face. The suspect was stopped in his vehicle after leaving the scene and transported to Kirkland Jail where he was cited and released.

DUI: 2:59 a.m., 12300 block of 113th Ave. NE; A 51-year-old man was stopped for multiple lane violations and after almost causing two collisions. The man exhibited signs of imparment, did poorly on field tests and provided a breath sample of .226.

Warrants: 8:10 a.m., 11800 block NE 116th St.; A 44-year-old man was arrested on his felony rape charge without incident. Bail was set at $25,000.
