Man arrested after burning roommate’s car with blowtorch | Kirkland crime blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. Between Jan. 12-18, there were 853 total incidents, including 133 traffic incidents, 18 traffic accidents, three DUIs, 26 general traffic incidents, four incidents involving illegal drugs, 30 alarm calls, seven abandoned vehicles, four burglaries, 10 incidents of fraud, seven civil incidents, four cases of harassment, 10 thefts, 15 vehicle prowls, one vehicle theft, four warrants served, 15 noise complaints, two animal calls, 9 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, eight disturbances, no sex offenses, four hit and runs and 16 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Jan. 12

Domestic: 9 a.m., 11600 block of NE 70th Place; A 19-year-old Redmond man assaulted his girlfriend, an 18-year-old Kirkland woman, and damaged her vehicle. The man was contacted in Redmond and arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault and malicious mischief.

Jan. 14

Warrants: 10:40 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; A 29-year-old Woodinville man was contacted and found to have a King County Sheriff warrant for 3rd-degree theft. The man was arrested and transported to King County jail.

Jan. 16

Malicious mischief: 11:20 p.m., 11300 block of NE 145th St.; A 24-year-old man damaged his roommate’s vehicle with a blowtorch and was arrested for 2nd-degree Reckless Burning and 3rd-degree Malicious Mischief.

Warrants: 11:20 p.m., 11300 block of NE 145th St.; A 27-year-old Bothell man was arrested on his warrants for theft and driving with a suspended license, worth $15,200, out of Lynnwood.

Jan. 17

DUI: 1:20 a.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; Police stopped a 25-year-old Bothell woman for speeding. After displaying signs of impairment, she was arrested for DUI and released from the jail.

Warrants: 1:32 a.m., 11600 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 42-year-old man was contacted at the AM/PM and arrested on his outstanding No-Bail warrant for 3rd-degree theft out of Lynnwood.

Hit-and-run: 8:35 a.m., 11900 block of Juanita Drive NE; A 39-year-old man crashed his 1993 Toyota 4Runner, left the scene of the incident and later returned to the scene. The man does not have a valid driver’s license, and was arrested on a King County felony warrant for Attempt to Elude. Charges of hit-and-run and driving without a license will be filed through investigation.

Jan. 18

Warrants: 12:42 a.m., 8200 block of 126th Ave. NE; A 22-year-old man was arrested on his outstanding felony drug warrant during a traffic stop.
