A Redmond-based Cloudstar Pictures, LLC crew shot some scenes for its movie ”Aberdeen” on Thursday in the Reporter’s Kirkland office.

“Aberdeen” is about a female sports journalist in her first job out of college. As she navigates sexism in the workplace, she discovers a shocking secret within her hometown’s high school sports department that she’s been assigned to cover. She has to decide whether or not to report on these things and drive her career forward, but at the expense of her hometown’s reputation and her brother’s future career.

Some of the main points they are trying to bring to light:

– women in the sports news industry

– issues regarding the abuse of steroids and other drugs

– the results of overexertion and the expectations that coaches and parents place on high school athletes.
