Kuderer leads Tom; Walen over Bright

Legislative District 48 race. Results are preliminary.

The preliminary results for this the Nov. 6 general election were reported at 8:36 p.m. on Tuesday night.

The position of state Senator and two House Representative seats were open for election in Legislative District 48. Incumbent Democrat Patty Kuderer faces off against Democrat Rodney Tom for the state Senate position. Position 1 is an uncontested race with incumbent Vandana Slatter running for reelection. Position 2 is a race between Democrats Amy Walen and Cindi Bright.

Legislative District 48 includes parts of Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland.

Sen. Patty Kuderer held a lead over Rodeny Tom with 65.54 percent of the vote. Tom has a total of 34.46 percent as currently reported.

For Position 2, Amy Walen is at 74.4 percent of the vote, with Cindi Bright at 25.6 percent.

Washington votes by mail and ballots can be postmarked as late as Election Day, meaning results could change in the following days. Check back this week for updated results.
